One of the most important things we do is contribute to building strong communities. We're dedicated to helping our communities be more vibrant places to live, work, and play, earning trust by being concerned and involved corporate citizens.

Along with our employees, Tennessee American Water is committed to being a community partner to Signal Mountain through:

  • Community giving
  • In-kind donations
  • Educational demonstrations and talks
  • Partnerships
  • Volunteering in the community

In communities we currently serve, we invest in some of the following ways:

  • Promoting STEM careers through mentoring programs and Science Olympiad programs with local schools, as well as participation in Junior Achievement
  • Supporting career development by creating internships for local high school and college students
  • Volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club, Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, AIM Center, Lookout Mountain Conservancy, among many other local organizations
  • Partnering with the Tennessee Aquarium to support its programs and educate the community on our water and ecosystem
  • Hosting our annual Water Fest event, providing the community an opportunity to learn more about how water is connected to almost everything we do and introduce the local men and women who produce and deliver clean, quality water to the communities we serve
  • Partnering with La Paz Chattanooga, Urban League of Greater Chattanooga, Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and various other local and professional organizations to be engaged members of the communities we serve
